UK: Politicos Largely Favor Leaving Assisted Suicide Laws As They Are


Some encouraging news out of the UK, where polled politicos seem to have strengthened for leaving assisted sucide laws as they are, that is, to not legalized assisted suicide.
Recession strengthens case against assisted suicide, MPs say
Almost six out 10 members of the Commons share concerns that people with disabilities or long-term illnesses would be more likely to feel that they were a “burden” to their loved ones during a recession.
And despite high profile cases such as that of Tony Nicklinson, the “locked-in” syndrome sufferer who fought an unsuccessful legal battle for a right to die, more than three quarters of MPs believe that changing the law on assisting a suicide is not a priority at the moment. more
