Vermont: Hearings On Assisted Suicide proposal

Vermont opens hearings on a proposed assisted suicide law – it’s encouraging to see that there’s also substantial opposition to the proposal.
Assisted suicide bill again before Senate committee
A Senate panel will hear testimony on a physician-assisted suicide bill this week, but the bill faces strong opposition and its chances of advancing remain unclear.
Bennington County Sen. Dick Sears, the Democratic chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he will review the bill, "An Act Relating to Patient Choice and Control at End of Life," with legislative counsel today. The Judiciary Committee will take three hours of testimony on Wednesday. more
