More On Aussie Assisted Suicide Conviction

Here’s more on the latest Aussie assisted suicide conviction (see also below).
Jail for assisted suicide
A man who helped an elderly friend kill himself wouldn't be in jail if a proper suicide plan had been in place, euthanasia advocate Philip Nitschke says.
Merin Nielsen was sentenced to three years' jail in Brisbane on Thursday for assisting the suicide of 76-year-old Frank Ward.
It's the first time someone has been jailed for the offence in Queensland. The 50-year-old teacher will be released on parole after serving six months.
Mr Ward was found dead in his Clayfield unit on Brisbane's northside on June 20, 2009. more
