Murder Using The Assisted Suicide Excuse


We're seeing more and more of this lately - murderers claiming that what they did was assist in a suicide - a lesser offense, no doubt. The only problem, of course, is that the deceased isn’t around to assure us that it was assisted suicide versus murder.

. . . A farmer found Nelson’s body shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in a field off Eatonville Road. His wrists and ankles were bound with rope and he’d been run over by a car. His silver Chevrolet Impala, keys in the ignition, was nearby. The Herkimer County coroner said he suffered multiple broken bones.
Just before midnight the next day, state police arrested Riesel and charged her with second-degree murder. According to police, Riesel said Nelson was terminally ill and that he asked her to kill him in exchange for the promise of $180,000. more
